The following steps will walk you through the basics of creating a post on American Viewpoint. (If you have any issues, please use the contact form and someone will contact you in order to assist.)

From the Featured Posts page or your profile page -

 

• Select the + Create a Post button near the upper left corner of the screen.

• The [insert screen name here] page is displayed.

• Click in the title field [insert prompt text here] to insert a title for your post.

• Click in the main text field to start writing your post.

 

You will also have the ability to add images or videos to your posts as well.

To add an image, you need to -  

​

• Select the image icon in the bottom left corner of the page to insert a picture.

• Navigate to the picture on your laptop and insert it. (Note: The picture will be inserted at the same size as it is on your laptop.)​

• Select the image itself to resize or align the picture using the shortcut menu that will appear once the image is selected. 

• The text will automatically align itself to the image once you click off of the picture.

You can place images throughout your post by:

• Moving your cursor to the point in your post that you would like to place the image. 

• Then follow the steps for adding an image listed above. 

• Select the image directly and a shortcut menu appears. 

  • Select the size you want. ​

  • Select the alignment you want (left, right, or centered). 

• The text will auto-adjust based on what you have selected for size and alignment. ​

Doing this will present a more appealing post for your readers to enjoy. 

 

To add video, you need to - 

​

• Select the video icon in the bottom left corner of the page to insert a video link. (Note: The default (and currently only accepted type) is a YouTube link.)

• Copy and paste the YouTube link into the text field in the displayed pop-up window.

• Then select OK.

You can place videos throughout your post by:

• Moving your cursor to the point in your post that you would like to place the video link. 

• Then follow the steps for adding an a video listed above. 

• Select the video directly and a shortcut menu appears. 

  • Select the size you want. ​

  • Recommend leaving the video centered on the screen.  

• The text will auto-adjust based on what you have selected for size and alignment.
