This can be a service that can offered immediately if the writer so chooses to do their part. (American Viewpoint is looking into the possibility of completely hosting video logs on this site as well.)

 

The writer would create the video and upload to YouTube (i.e. their own private channel - similar to what Pat Nicklaus did here). They would then insert the YouTube link into a new post using the video link at the bottom of the page. The writer can build their own audience as well as contribute here. Commentaries will need to be short in length - no more than 3-5 minutes is recommended - depending on the topic and how well it is presented.

 

Some recommendations for commentary videos include:

• Writing a script out in advance. Doing an ad-lib speech is difficult unless you are an experienced public speaker.

• Record in a quiet space to eliminate background noise.

• Ensure that the background is not distracting from you as the speaker. You want people to look at you and listen to what you are saying.

• Review your video before posting. Ensure that it is the highest quality you can provide and that the commentary is well-presented. Remember we are striving for intelligent discussion or debate.

• All videos are required to be categorized as Other and can include additional applicable categories depending on the content.

 

Some recommendations for other types of videos (e.g. music, artistic, etc.):

• Record in a quiet space to eliminate background noise.

• Ensure that the background is not distracting from you. You want people to look at you and listen to you.

• Review your video before posting. Ensure that it is the highest quality you can provide to highlight the content presented in the video.

• All videos are required to be categorized as Other and can include additional applicable categories depending on the content.

 

The writer/contributor can include a link to their YouTube channel for people to subscribe if they so choose.
