When Fans Go Too Far!

It seems that some people need to realize that at a sporting event, they are fans who are supposed to stay in their seat. After the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Denver Nuggets, one fan forgot this part as you can see in this ESPN video clip.

Then Westbrook provided his perspective on the whole issue -

He is absolutely right.

That fan cannot come out onto the floor just because he wanted to. Buying a ticket or that the game was over does not change anything. Once the game is over, most people should celebrate while heading home or console themselves while heading home.

This fan did not get the memo. Clearly.

The hard part is the "what if" game. What if he had done more than just get in Westbook's face and let out a celebratory yell? What if Westbrook thinking much worse was about to happen and knocked the guy out? This whole situation would be playing out entirely different.

Fans should expect a good game, but when the game is over - go home. You do not have the right to continue to celebrate by crossing the line where you are not supposed to go. The fan should be barred from attending another Nuggets' game (for this season at a minimum).

Westbrook should be applauded for only shoving him - when he would have been well within his right to defend himself.
