Elsa's A What?

I know the old saying about art and life imitating each other. But for the most part, I have to agree with Dennis Leary's character in the movie 'The Thomas Crowne Affair' when he said -

So, if some Houdini wants to snatch a couple swirls of paint... that are really only important to some very silly rich people...

That was my attitude towards art, movies, etc. It did pretty well getting me through most of my life - for the most part cause I was young and stupid and really did not care that much about the subject. As long as I was able to have what I wanted, I had no problem letting self-absorbed people have their high-brow art, movies, and so forth.

The problem is that is not what is happening. It seems with every movie that is now being released that there has to be somewhat of a social statement made with the movie. With the most recent being, 'Black Panther' which is a movie about a BLACK superhero [and its revolutionary impact on the world]. (I am paraphrasing the linked article here with the added emphasis.)

'Black Panther' is just another example, but at what point does this become overkill?

I think we have reached that point.

It seems that a marvelous movie about a girl with extraordinary powers was not enough for some people. No, it seems she has to make a social statement and change the world. (The problem is that it is a fictional world, but they would not let that stop them.)

The YouTube videos of people singing this song, such as a

- were not enough.

It seems that Elsa needs to have a female love interest in the upcoming sequel. The reason is that - a supposedly widely held opinion - is that this song was a "coming out" anthem. That there is absolutely no other reason than Elsa was making a statement to the world.

Now, if you are in agreement with that last paragraph, then you are one of those "silly" people I am referring to back at the beginning of this post. People go to the movies to escape reality, to escape the heat of summer, to go on a date. They do not go to the movies to be lectured as to how they should think, believe, feel, etc.

People like this need to stop trying to ruin the world with their never-ending inanity.

Elsa is a girl. Time to "Let It Go."
