The Second American Civil War

As I mentioned here, there is a growing discontent among Democrats, liberals, progressives or anyone of that bent for all things American. They do not like this country for what it is.

They want it to fit their flawed ideal of a "socialist utopia."

Now, this has become part of the social media landscape. At this point, no one should be shocked that social media platforms such as Twitter have a left-leaning bent to them. Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, admitted to as much.

“We need to constantly show that we are not adding our own bias, which I fully admit is left, is more left-leaning..."

So, at this point, complaints about censorship are counterproductive. You know it, I know it - everyone knows that social media/media platforms are liberal by their very nature.

"...the media needs to be treated as enemy territory..."

This is the reason why Donald Trump went after the media from the onset. Attack them. Make them defend their own credibility - which to reasonable Americans had become evidently clear that they had none.

Then much to his chagrin, Jack Dorsey tweeted out that this article was a "great read."

The article has basically declared that a second American Civil War is the only way to solve our problems. No other options are available so -

"... one side must win..."

The author then holds up California as the leader to a new and "better" America. (I will wait a moment for the laughter to die down.) We have violence in the streets (Antifa), vitriolic partisanship online (Thanks Obama.), and now a clarion call for a "civil war."

Please note - this is what liberals want. This is what progressives want. This is what the Democratic Party is now ACTIVELY campaigning for in both the 2018 midterms and will be in 2020.

So, if California is the standard as to what America should be. What the author states is that the system in California was broken. Government had become polarized, paralyzed, and that one side had to win. It was the only way things would every change or improve.

The author's statement was because progressives "won", California -

  • Has a booming economy.

  • Has budget surpluses.

  • Has a happier attitude towards their state government.

  • Has become the leader in combating climate change.

So, in terms of -

How can progressives claim to be for the "people" when their own policies are not helping the "people"? Because California also leads the nation in homelessness as well.

What is California doing with all of that money if they are not finding ways to help ordinary Californians who need it. Also, as I mentioned here -

Tourist spots in San Francisco being compared to the worst slums IN THE WORLD.

(Take a moment and let that sink in. The "tourist spots" are slums.)

As Peter Leyden mentions in his article, this is progressive policies in action, because what is happening in San Francisco has been that way since 2008 - after the progressives "won." So, Mr. Leyden, I have a question:

What is California doing to help the people since you say the state is awash in cash?

Moving on. According to the article, California -

  • Has a booming economy.

California has a large economy. That goes without saying. I think the current ranking is that California is the fifth largest economy in the world. But a summary statement like that belies the details. Progressives are for "the people" but California has one of the highest poverty rates in the nation. California's unemployment rate is higher than the national rate for July 2018.

Now for the real fun. The editorial board of the Orange County Register disagrees with Mr. Leyden on the economy - especially the assertion that it works for "all of the people."

  • "... inequality and government largesse behind the state’s sunny figures..."

  • "The New York Times recently tallied spiraling, bubble-ready house prices, uncontrolled homelessness and latent pension problems (for public sector union workers)..."

  • " California’s leading tech companies have concentrated wealth and power in a tiny circle..."

Remember folks. This is progressive policies in action. This is one-party Democratic progressive rule in action. Almost half of the state's population lives at/near the poverty line.

"Almost 40 percent of state residents are in poverty or near to it, according to the Public Policy Institute of California."

Let's continue. California -

  • Has become the leader in battling climate change.

Two words for you - Los Angeles.

It has gotten worse for two straight years and this is progressive policy in action - according to Mr. Leyden. California is favoring "the delta smelt" over farmers who are trying to produce food for people.

This is what progressives value when it comes to climate change. But Mr. Leyden has written an entire series of articles basically calling for a "civil war" and California is the reason progressives will win.

So, poverty, homelessness, and no water to drink - unless you are a member of the political ruling class. That is what they offer as a reason to break the country apart.

you guys ask why the business ruling class and politicans would go this route of progressivism/communism--one word POWER--they are the ones who need it seek it and are loathe to give it up if someone else is elected--that is part of the reason for all the hate directed at trump--power to the people and not the ones who were pulling the strings !! no way ---

so yes i firmly believe this will result in some kind of civil war-it always does when 2 polarized sides want all the power to themselves--when one side MUST WIN--our side must win to preserve this nation america--their side must win to change it..

why do the useful idiots beleive it ? because a…

This article spells out exactly what I don't understand about "progressives", "liberals" "socialist democrats" and especially any business that is owned or run by them, or any government run by these people. Why would a business owner, or a state government invite chaos as a model of success? Why would they not embrace conservative capitalistic principles to run a business or a government seeking a healthy profit to put back into the business or government? What business or government wants to NOT succeed? Why are these people pining for a civil war? To what end? To achieve chaos? To live in chaos? To end innocent lives and destroy property? To suffer and cause suffering for others? I'm sincerely worried for…
