What Is With All of This Death-wishing?

My morning always starts with coffee. It helps my brain "wake-up" and start to focus on the day ahead. I will have to say a trend started with this link I saw on Facebook with the following headline -
Northeastern professor caught saying he wouldn't mind seeing Trump 'dead'; apologizes following backlash

We are now at the point that we are publicly proclaiming our desire to see the President dead. The idealist in me thought this had to be a one-time occurrence. Right? I did not like Obama, but I never once thought - much less publicly declare - that I wanted him dead.
Something has to be terribly wrong here. Then I started digging. Not only are people wanting Trump to be dead, they want to take his family out too.
Mystery Envelope With White Powder Sent to Manhattan Apartment of Trump Daughter-in-Law
Seriously?! I understand people not liking Trump, but where is the civility? Let's not only wish he were dead, but let's kill the family too! Sending white powder (think Anthrax) to her apartment is a 'terrorist' attack at a minimum. Put yourself in her shoes. She had to have thought she was going to die on the way to the hospital. On what planet could any sane individual think this is right?
But this is the new "en vogue" thing to do - Wish Trump were dead.
Kathy Griffin holding a severed Donald Trump 'head' - Then she has the nerve to blame Trump for not being able to book a gig in the US. (What about common human decency?)
Madonna mused about "blowing up the White House" (with Trump in it of course) which was after she stated she wanted Trump to perform an "obscene act to himself." (She did this during the Women's March.)
Could this get any worse? How badly do people wish someone to be dead? Yes, and it does not even have to involve Americans.
British national Michael Sanford actually tried to assassinate Trump when he was only a candidate.

So, this is not even just an American thing. Michael just decided to act upon his impulses.
It has gotten so bad that we ven have a theater company adapting Shakespeare's Julius Caesar so that Caesar looks like Trump who is killed in the end. We also can't forget about Snoop Dogg's remix of 'Lavendar' that mocks Donald Trump as a clown (which is quite reasonable for this day) to Snoop Dogg 'shooting' Donald Trump at the end.
This is the world we live in now. If your candidate does not win, you form #Resistance movements and you publicly proclaim that you wish he were dead. Some even try to do it - when Trump was only a candidate no less.
As intelligent Americans, we should be able to have a reasonable discussion about our differences without resorting to wishing someone was dead, that his family was dead, and going so far as to actually try and kill someone through your own actions.
It is time for a change.

the level of hate is astounding---too bad they didn't exhibit this level of hate towards our enemies when they killed thousands of us or beheaded our guys on some beach, but then our own president at the time thought it a mere inconvenience for interrupting his golf game and sided with our enemies over americans for the crime of being "exceptional" so guess he set the bar for them...then we have hollywood out with their campaign of hate mere days after the inauguration--liberals only major accomplishment is spreading hate--congradulations
I agree, "what is with all this death wishing" - it is really shocking. I strongly disliked Obama's policies but I never once wished him dead. That is the difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives tolerate liberals but liberals wish conservatives dead.
